Ability to collapse sections on a list

We have had a request from an academic with a large list for the ability to set the sections on their list to be collapsed by default. This will allow the user to quickly scroll to the relevant section then open it to see their readings.

(Also, can we please have a UX category created for these ideas?).

SECOND THIS! It is visually overwhelming to have all of the sections expanded all the time. This is bad UX practice for accessibility, and can be off putting for students. The table of contents sort of helps, but it would be great to be able to have all readings showing for the current section (lets say module of the course) whilst the earlier modules are collapsed.

This seems like such a basic and fundamental feature of any online list so I don't know why it is in the backlog and not a low hanging fruit for much better UX!

Thanks for your feedback, Kendall. We will put these in our backlog for future consideration. For the time being, you can suggest that students and instructors use the Table of Contents to jump to desired section in the list. Best, Lisa (Product Management)
