    For us it would also be great if the list owner could receive an alert whenever a new item link is added to an existing item. Per our workflow, academics first add items to a reading list, and then the library runs a weekly report of all changes and buys/digitises as required on the basis of this. Having an automated alert for both newly added items AND newly added links would be a great way of notifying the academic that their request had been fulfilled. But just having an alert when a new item is added (per the OP) would be fantastic and save a huge amount of manual emailing.

    We use library notes as a way of making acquisition and digitisation requests, so having some way of identifying changes to these specifically would be incredibly helpful. Currently we don't know what's been updated when we run lists of newly published items, and have to identify library note changes "manually" in Excel. I also 100% agree with the suggestion of date-stamping library notes.
