Using the All List Report does allow you to see who last published a reading list. As changes to a list may have been done by library staff updating a link it may confuse if this is in the front end under ‘recent changes’ as to why the list was published by someone other than the academic. We will keep an open watch on this idea though.

I would say to show both - the most useful thing to the user is to see what is available at a glance, so 2 buttons showing 'print book' and 'view online' would be the best option.

This is more urgently needed in the new edit as you can no longer drag and drop bookmarks. Colleagues quite often have to create 2 near identical lists, for modues with 2 separate cohorts. By using drag and drop they can reasonably quickly create a section in one list, then replicate the same section in the second list (using drag and drop on the same bookmarks). They are concerned about how much extra time this is going to take in the new edit as each bookmark needs to be searched for.

If it isn't possible to allow html or other formatting options, maybe give the option to add multiple student note fields.

It might also be helpful to highlight all new items/sections on a list that have not been published with the yellow warning background. Then you could see exactly what will not be visible on the published version.

This does need to be more noticable. The hover contrast is bad too.

Alan, this is already possible - our OpenURLs from Aspire all contain sid=talis:aspire. Ask Talis and I think they can do this for you.

This is a good idea. Ideally the system would allow for a dual print/ebook item but I can see this would be difficult to programme given the variety of methods there are of cataloguing print and e.

You can filter for digitised items in the old list view but for some reason they've taken it away in the new view.

The all-or-nothing approach to adding authentication to article links that Aspire uses does not work. It needs to be optional so we can choose which links should be authenticated - and which authentication method to use, where an organisation uses more than 1 form of authentication.

There needs to be some mechanism for adding or removing proxy authentiation from article links so that we can link to both subscribed and free resources.

We have been reviewing this idea following on from the list edit work that has been taking place and would like to now explore this piece further.
This is an example of how an idea may be declined at a point in time but as we explore and develop new areas we do review all ideas past and present and consider them all.

This isn't a very logical response. If you have timed release of sections in your Learning Management System but a fully published list in Aspire, then your lists *will* be out of sync - there's nothing you can do to prevent it.
If you add a 'hide section' option into Aspire which is respected by the LTI tools, then only visible sections in Aspire will be visible in your LMS, so both systems will always be in sync.
This functionality is something our academics have also asked for, for many years.
Many lists have multiple editors and sometimes it is critical that we know who has edited/added items to a list so we can contact them about the items. At minimum we need to see all the people who have access to edit a list (and who have in fact edited it). Ideally we would see a more detailed history of the specific edits each person has made.
