Using the ‘Has Part’ does create a new resource ID and they would behave as you suggest so that students can log notes on individual items. The current being able to add a ‘Has Part’ has been designed with this scenario in mind. It maybe this action itself that needs improvement to make it easier for Academics to flag chapter references. We will continue to monitor the idea and if there is significant support we will of course review.

I can see the pro's and con's for this, but users are always going to follow the path of least resistance. At the moment it is much easier for an academic to drag the same bookmark into multiple locations and add a note to students saying which parts to read in different weeks/topics. If creating a proper chapter bookmark with correct background metadata was easier then I would say actually this isn't an issue. But most people tend to use the same bookmark and add a note. Because the system is so flexible in how users can use it, I think this flexibility needs to then persist into the notes/status updates. Making the notes/status unique to the instance of the bookmark would let users use the system both ways.

In-built notification is an area we would like to explore but is not currently in our near term development focus.

We think this is of value and would like to explore further as part of the next work we do in the Reviews area of TARL so will raise this for consideration then.

We are currently reviewing this idea as this is an interesting concept and one we would like to explore further. If anyone would like to add their use case to this ticket it would be helpful to understand all scenarios.

Academics often use changing the year as a work around to avoid copying and archiving their lists. This idea would be very useful as the 'work around' causes a lot of headaches.

We would like to be able export some kind of data about how many intentions or notes have been set across the tenancy and broken down by list. This would be really helpful to help subject librarians target courses in need of information and provide a benchmark.

This is something Talis are working towards. Currently Talis Aspire Digitised Content only enables you to upload materials that require copyright clearance, but the Talis Player will not only enable you to upload material that needs to be copyright cleared, but also other materials.
Talis have been working with beta partners to develop this, and we will keep you up to date with the wider release of this through the usual updates (webinars, newsletters, events etc).

We would like to improve the ability to display as much info that we have about a resource even if it is not the specific format that was originally bookmarked.
A redesign of how we display holdings would probably be required and this is not currently in our short term development focus.
This idea so it has been moved to the longer term backlog. It will be merged with a similar existing idea.
Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned.

This idea would be quite useful as we have had several vendors change their domains and not all of them offered redirection services. However the metadata refresh wouldn't cover database articles. The ability to bulk update fields (specifically links) would be immensely useful.
