We use Talis Aspire and OCLC and have identified inconsistencies in the bookmarking experience from the catalogue. This issue did not occur when we used Sierra. Here are the specifics:
eBooks: When bookmarking from the catalogue, it defaults to "Open URL".
Electronics Articles: When bookmarking from the catalogue, there is no web address, nor does it default to "Open URL".
eJournals: When bookmarking from the catalogue, it defaults to "Open URL".
Audio-visual Documents: When bookmarking from the catalogue, there is no web address, nor does it default to "Open URL".
The inconsistencies make it very challenging for academics to create bookmarks. Library staff have to manually check and fix each newly created bookmark.
Hi Grace, thanks for your idea. We are currently reviewing our Bookmarking system and will consider this as part of that work. Best, the Product Team.
