Unfortunately, our users find it confusing to use the Add field drop down in the metadata window.
Rather than choosing an option in the drop down, then clicking the Add button, they find it more instinctive to click the Add button first. Frustratingly, this inadvertently adds an unwanted Author field to the metadata every time.
To the improve the user experience, please only have an Add Field button that makes a pop-up appear in which the user selects their desired field type.
The same change should be applied to the Lookup function, so it only has a 'Lookup' button, and no drop down.
This would make these functions consistent with the 'Link to' button.
Our users also do not find it intuitive that 'Part Of' or 'Has Part' is among the Add fields options.
It would be much easier if these were tick boxes like the Online Resource box -- with one becoming 'greyed out' when the other is ticked.
Overall, these changes would make the edit metadata window much cleaner and easier to use!
