  1. Ability to edit/delete the log at review stage

It would be very useful if it was possible to edit/delete comments made in the log when reviewing a list instead of having to add an additional note to correct a former comment.

  2. Don't allow academics to add/delete items from reading lists whilst the list is being reviewed by acquisitions

Items appearing and disappearing on lists... we could easily end up buying things that are no longer required or missing essential items.

  3. Notes for Assign reviewer & Request review

We would find it very helpful if there was a Note field associated with both the Assugn reviewer & Request review process.

Our workflow relies on us passing reviews around library staff and the ability to add messages for the recipient would be a real benefit.

  4. Set review outcome via drop-down

We would like to be able to quickly set the review outcome of a book through some sort of "quick-click" process.

One way would be to be able to set the review out come of a book via a quick drop-down, in the same way you are currently able to quickly set the importance of an item in a reading list when creating a reading list..

Alternatively, a check-box system where multiple review outcomes could be set, would also be desirable.

The reviews refresh has not been able to resolve this. Review outcome and comments are still linked and the review outcome will be in a drop-down option

  5. List Review Prioritisation Options

It would be useful if academics could mark reviews as high or low priority when sending them for review. This would help us to identify lists where purchasing is urgently required and differentiate them from lists when the academic just wants things checked over

  6. Select reviewer on review request

When a list is ready for review we would like to be able to select the email address to which the review for that specific lists should be sent, rather than the address being predefined for all lists.

We will not be focusing on this due to low votes. This idea has been declined and moved to the archive

  7. Making library review outcome comments visable in CSV

We would like to communicate list review outcomes not only to the owner of a list but to our Acquisitions team too, who would rather receive our purchase requests in Excel sheets. So, exporting the outcome to an Excel sheet is quite useful here. But the only problem is Last comment under Review Outcome (in which we plan to convey our requests to our Acquisitions team, such as number of copies to purchase, e-books or print, etc) does not appear when the review is exported to Excel.

We feel this could be managed by integrating your acquisitions process more deeply with Talis Aspire Reading Lists so that staff are accessing the information within the system. If you would like to explore your workflows more fully then please do raise a support ticket and we can arrange a call with you.

  8. "Note for library" field when creating a new list

It would be helpful to have a "Note for library" box when creating a new list in which information needed for reviewing the list could be added (e.g. numbers of students, fund code, whether the course has a coursepack, etc). As opposed to the "Description" box this information would be hidden from view.

We will not be focusing on this due to low votes in the 2012 ideas survey

  9. Summary of items removed from list in Reviews

We'd like a summary of items that have been removed from a list in the Reviews module, including details such as its importance level and any notes for library that were next to the item.

  10. Add 'Distance Learning Course' tick box to Create List options.

At the moment there is no easy way for academics to inform us that a list is to be used by distance learning students. This has an impact on Acquisitions as it is possible that we will purchase multiple print copies that will rarely be borrowed. It would be useful to have a tick box option when the academic creates a list so we have this information.

  11. Automatically email a list owner when the list is published.

We would like a feature to automatically email a list owner when the list is published. This would provide feedback to the Academic staff from the reading list assistant who keyed in the data for the reading list in Aspire and let them know that the list has been published and they are online.
A work around would be to run a report on published lists and export to csv file, run a mail merge and update the academic staff, however the email address in not included in the export file?

  12. Link review stages to email addresses to receive alert

When we set a review to, for example, the digitisation stage, we want the digitisation team inbox to receive an alert. With the ordering stage, we want the ordering team to receive an email alert, so anyone in that team can pick it up.

As it stands, we have to set up fake users with team email addresses for the alerts which is unnecessarily complicated.

We are making any change to review stages and notifications as part of the changes we are making to reviews

  13. Review 2.0 Review outcome colour coding

In Reviews 2.0 all the review outcomes show on list overview as a white tick on a grey background. Some require further action e.g. the item needs digitising or extra copies are required but many require no further action. It would be useful to have different colours or icons assigned to items to be actioned. I realise that each client chooses their own outcomes so this might be difficult to map but would be beneficial if possible.

  14. importance

Would it be possible for the Importance field to be highlighted or made more prominent in the right hand pane of the review 'view' please? There is a great deal of useful info on the review screen now but it's useful to be able to see certain things at a glance - our purchasing is dependent on set importance.

    Thanks

  16. Inclusion of notes in reviews

We would like to be able to see notes (i.e. when the notes are items on a reading list) in the reviews process. Perhaps this could be implemented flexibly so sites can decide whether or not to have notes displayed in reviews, but for us it would certainly be useful.

The principal reasoning is that academics who are unable to bookmark something just paste references in a note rather than adding a real bookmark, or when they have acquired a pdf outside our digital readings service they just put a note on the list saying there's a pdf on the…

  17. Ability to cancel a list review

It seems that once a review is requested or started, it has to be completed. There isn't anything in the application that allows a user to cancel review requests once submitted. Might be useful to have a option to cancel somewhere in the application, particularly if reviews are set against a list/item in error.

Cancellation of reviews is not something we will be addressing in the reviews refresh

  18. 'Institutions holding this' field

An academic would like to have a field at the point of bookmarking to enter library holdings of other institutions for a title, especially in the absence of local holdings. Is it possible to have such a field, similar to COPAC, that tell ones which libraries hold a title? Thank you.

  19. Passing new approved requests to LMS

When any item is approved for purchase Aspire to configure an output using the EDI standard (or other recognised standards) to allow us to automatically update to the LMS (Voyager supports EDI).

  20. Allow users to request review even when forced review option in place

We have chosen for all lists to be automatically sent for review when published, but would still like a request review option to be available for staff.
We think this would be helpful where staff want the library to review their list but don't yet want to publish and make their list public.
