We would like to be able to customise the text and button associated with the Bookseller widget. This would allow us to add branding via an image and use CSS styling to match our campus book shop.
A new element could be added to the XML generated by the webservice to accommodate this. If it is absent, the widget can generate the text and button with default styling, but if it is present then the supplied HTML can be used instead.
The HTML could be supplied as a CDATA section and simply output on the screen.4 votes
We believe the Bookseller API serves its functionality to display bookstore availability information to the student and a direct link to the bookstore. We do not intend to enable custom HTML for this widget
Current API only allows current 'time period' to show, but this can't be configured and only shows the current semester, so during semester one, semester two lists do not show on the OPAC. The only other option is to show ALL lists ever, but this is not helpful either because then it is difficult to differentiate between lists taking place in the current academic year and older lists. It would be much more useful (particularly for stock work) if the API could show all lists for the current academic year.1 vote
We are going to decline this idea as this can be resolved in other ways by adjusting time periods. If this is something you would like to explore please raise a support ticket: https://support.talis.com/hc/en-us
