Library availability - search alternatives link
Increase text size/create button for links to both of the following...
- View in library catalogue
- Search the library catalogue for other formats/editions
At the moment these links are too discrete.

Improving 'no image available'
Instead of the generic 'no image available' icon (and not conflicting with the idea previously logged of having an upload/snapshot image tool), could Aspire support the idea of Tenancy specific generic icons which were resource type sensitive. So the workflow would be: 'This is a journal article; I have no image to accompany this; retrieve and display the Tenancy specific journal article icon'.
2 votesWe’ve not gone for a tenancy specific option here, but we have iremoved the “no image available” display when no image is available.

Displaying items by week required
Ideas from student focus group:
One of the key comments from all participants was to be able to view their resource list readings by week required.
2 votesWith changes in the list view a student can now view their reading list by sections and weekly reviews and digest by section in the enhanced integration with the VLE/LMS.

Make it easier for students to find items they have made personal notes on
As suggested- a comment made on another idea. It would be good if in the personalised areas there was a filter to lists/items with personal notes 'attached'.
This would fit into the student revision workflow. At high stress and time poor periods students will want a quick way to get back to resources they found helpful.
I think a feature like this would encourage them to put notes on in the first place. At the moment there is not a great incentive to use the notes area.

suppress googlebooks preview icon if the equivalent e-book is in stock
We have a pretty healthy collection of (paid-for) e-books - and these show in the list as they should. But if there is also a googlebook for the same title, the googlebook preview icon also shows. Not only is this confusing for the student, but it diverts them from the paid-for resource
1 voteSince the introduction of the Online Resource button (whose appearance will also be improved – see top idea), where a resource is an ebook, the google preview is now suppressed.

Library Availability and electronic content
When electronic material records are pulled from the Library Catalogue, the $856 URL is extracted to become the URL of the resource in Talis. In the absence of Holdings data for these items, the Library Availability look-up is reported as unavailable. It might be preferable if the look-up script checked (against a set of rules) the presence of certain values in the Aspire record for the resource (such as a Web address or electronic resource format) and then not attempt the look-up, but instead present the end user a message such as: "This electronic material is available online. Access it…

Order of display results
What isn't clear to me is why the reading lists and the modules they belong to don't appear together in the list of results displayed following a search. For example, if we search for 'Early childhood', we get a page of links in which 'International Comparisons in Early Childhood Care/Education appears as a List, and then further down the page we see U70171 - International Comparisons in Early Childhood Care/Education appearing separately. I can see that if you go into either the list or the module, you get to the same thing eventually, but I would have thought they should…

My Bookmarks display in Edit List view
When recently creating a resource list for a Spanish course- several items bookmarked had the same title- but one was a book and the other an audio-visual item- but look identical in My Bookmarks on the right hand side of the Edit List view as only the information from the title field is visible. Can you show the material type in My Bookmarks in this view?
0 votesThe bookmarks displayed in List Edit mode now have the resource type displayed with them.
