How can we improve Talis Aspire Reading Lists?

Resource Type

Make the drop down menu for "Resource Type" customizable.
We have a lot of different resource types that lecturers want to bookmark, such as music score, law report, school resources.
Some Law and Music lecturers are against using the system because of this.

We would like to add some additional resource types.

However, this is not currently in our near term development focus so it has been moved to the longer term backlog.

Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned.

    Our goal is to help people build their reading lists by organizing it in a way https://drift-hunters.com https://5letterwords.io/ that is easy for them to understand and use. We want the reading lists to be an efficient, effective way for people to build their library and keep track of what they are reading. However, we realize that this is a complicated task, and there are many factors that can affect the outcome of the process.

    We too need the functionality to add different resource types. This includes Scores and reports as mentioned by others, but also technology has moved forward and 'audio visual document' seems a bit ridiculous in this streaming age.

    As an academic music librarian, many of the lists we need to create contain scores. The first comment I received from an academic on showing them an example list was 'why are the scores listed as books?'

    I echo Christina's comment that Music lecturers are less likely to take to the system because of this.

    We would find adding 'selected pages' pages to the 'resource type' drop down box very useful. It would provide a more accurate record when requesting digitisation for selected pages. At the moment it is incorrectly being recorded as chapter, when it is in fact selected pages being requested.

    It would be useful for us to have database as a resource type too.

    We don't have any great need for the resource types to be customisable locally, however it would be good to have some additions to the list. I have recently had requests from departments for the additions: Dataset, Database, Newspaper.

    I'd like to add the resource "Extract". Academics ask for scanned readings that are not necessarily whole chapters.

    yes other resource types have been requested such as ebook, conference paper so whether customizable or extended standard list it would make it easier for staff to use.

    We would also like to customize our Resource Type menu. Right now there is nothing suitable for Book Series. Many thanks.
