Populating user registration fileds.
When a user loggs in for the First Time, we know who they are.
We can send their name and email address to prepopulate the Registration Fieds in the form.
Please can this functionality be developped for Shibboleth Users.

Talis Aspire Reading Lists now supports the automatic creation of user profiles when a user logs in for the first time, and the continued update of that profile if changes to names and email addresses are made in university identity management systems. Populating user fields from Shibboleth attributes would be very welcome. It would ensure that user data held in Aspire matches data in our central systems and reflects email and name changes.

Agreed that this would be an extremely useful addition for us. Students access their reading through the VLE and having already authenticated once, it's seen as a barrier having to provide information that's already known to create a separate profile.

This functionality would be extremely useful to us, and help drive up adoption as we find that needing to create a user profile can turn people away from the system before they get started.
As has been flagged by other users below we'd very much prefer to default to our institutional email addresses rather than giving users the option of using a personal email.

I agree. This is an essential development idea. It is particularly important to streamline the login process if students are accessing through an LTI integration, and it's really important to limit the students to using their student email only.

Agree with all the comments so far; we want this info pre-populated to make the experience as seamless as possible and to prevent users adding personal email addresses.

This would be a fantastic addition to Aspire and something that would really improve the user experience.

We agree that this is something that is so simple to provide at our end and really impacts on the experience for our users. Is Talis Aspire a University resource or not? Having to fill in their information themselves creates disgruntlement, mistakes and personal email addresses.
We have just enabled prepopulated My Lists for Students and it would really improve their experience.

This is something we consider to be pretty essential and were of the understanding that it was in place already.
We don't wish our users to put in personal email address that means any communications are potentially out with our control.
