In-line Box of Broadcast (BoB) materials
BoB is a system that is going to be very important in the HE sector in the near future - either from the National BoB or locally implemented. Cambridge Imaging and BUFVC are the external partners to talk to on this.

We have got this service and it is proving hugely popular - I can see our film academics having links for their lists. Its is authenticated but why does this differ from a subscribed article ?

We started getting BoB a few months back and it is hugely popular and it has been a good tool to try and persuade academics about using the lists for more than just static reading lists. Surely links are protected by Shibboleth authentication?

I'm not sure whether this is a priority development for Aspire unless other institutions see it as replacing a lot of the functionality already available in our VLEs? Our academic staff make heavy use of our VLE to embed course resources using services like uTube, lecture capture software, (iTunes). Cath28/07/2009 01:32:21 [Chris Clarke (Talis)]
We have been in conversation with Box of Broadcasts - expect to see a podcast v. soon on the Education site http://www.talis.com/education! They are worried about access to copyright materials but there is potential to work on embedding freely available content.
