Alert for library notes
It would be useful if there was a way we could be notified whenever a new library note is added to one of the reading lists since there could be notes on there asking for a certain number of copies to be bought or for a title to be purchased in a different format which we do not know about especially when academics do not request reading list reviews. I have stumbled across a few lists with library notes asking similar questions and no-one in our team is aware of them.

We use library notes as a way of making acquisition and digitisation requests, so having some way of identifying changes to these specifically would be incredibly helpful. Currently we don't know what's been updated when we run lists of newly published items, and have to identify library note changes "manually" in Excel. I also 100% agree with the suggestion of date-stamping library notes.
This would be great and save us a lot of time in having to check all items with an exclamation mark! I think I flagged this message as inapporpriate by mistake! Apologies for this. And there isn't undo button :(
In addition to a notification I'd like to see the introduction of auto date/time stamp and userID added to library notes. When our team add library notes we date and inital so our history of actions is clear but we don't know when or how old notes from academic staff are. We don't automatically see them unless a list is sent for review or picked up via an All LIst Items report and they may not be current instructions/requests.

This would be a significant help to our Collections team, and would help to streamline our communication with academic list editors.

This would make a big difference to our client service. Helpful notes that are left for our team are overlooked and causes friction with our academic relationships when we've not done something. At present we're running a report to pick these up and an improved alerting method or workflow would be ideal.
Yes this is an excellent idea, especially for those of us not currently using reviews. We try to take a look for library notes when we are reviewing other elements but it would be very useful if we got a notice of some kind. For example if a lecturer has asked for a scan or purchase using the library note. Either that or the ability to remove/ hide it so it is not used.
