Dropdown menu when editing lists so references can be moved to a particular week rather than needing to be dragged and dropped
A few academic staff at our institution have found it frustrating and time consuming to move references from one week to another when editing their reading lists using the existing drag and drop method. It would be helpful if, in edit mode, there was a 'move to' option whereby a reference could, for example, be moved from Week 1 to Week 9 without the need to drag it all the way down to the bottom of the reading list. It would be good if this could work along the same lines as the 'create & add to list' option when…
14 votesNew List Edit allows the ability to copy and paste items from your reading list from one place to another, as in the example from Week 1 to Week 9. The traditional drag and drop is also available as well as the ability to move items up and down a list. We would like to be able to see the academic year in the list drop-down when adding a bookmark using the "add to list" option.
At present we have several year's worth of lists visible within Talis Aspire. Academics can not tell which list is the current year list when adding new items to their lists using the "add to list" option while editing. It would improve their ease of use if they could see which list is for which academic year.

Null read status
We have had student feedback that if they accidentally set a Read Status, the available options (Will read/Reading now/Have read/Won't read) are not always applicable. We would like the option to be able to revert back to a 'null' read status.
3 votesThis has been resolved with the new list view. A student can change their reading intentions back to ‘undecided’ which is the default state.

Make deleting safer
The delete function was brought in without its own permission, so anyone who can archive a list can also delete a list. This means a lot of staff here now have the delete option, because they need the archive option.
If a list is deleted, there is no trace of it whatsoever, even to sysadmins and Support, and there is no way of having any notifications when lists are deleted. This introduces substantial risk.
We would prefer not to have to remove archive permission from most users, therefore we request that:
- the delete permission is a separate permission so…2 votesthis was released today

Automatic Online Resource if item has DOI
Would it be possible to have the Online Resource box automatically ticked if the item has a DOI? The box is checked for eBooks and websites so just wondered if this could be replicated for journal articles.
3 votesWe have implemented this as optional behaviour, raise a support ticket if you would like this behaviour enabled

Delete list in draft
We'd like to be able to delete draft lists without first having to publish them

Have all list action options for draft lists as well as published (delete, archive, copy, etc)
When a list is in draft status, you are missing a lot of list editing options. We would like all options possible for published lists to be possible for draft lists as they could all be useful.

Create a manual bookmark from the editing page
It would be useful to have the option to create a new bookmark from the editing page, rather than having to go to My Bookmarks to select this.
12 votesThis option is now available in New List Edit.

To be able to assign/change time periods from the 'edit' drop down tab
I am currently going through a big batch of lists that need a time period for the rollover. At present I have to open the edit screen to change or this.
It would be great if this was an opion under the 'Edit' button along with 'Assign List Owner' and 'Link to Hierarchy'

Add ability to batch publish (etc) lists
We need to be able to search/select lists, tick the ones we want to carry out a batch function on, and batch publish them.
Other batch functions are also required, such as unpublish, add note, assign list publisher, assign list owner... [Um, I already put batch assign list owner in a separate idea, maybe this should all just be one?]
6 votesWe have now enabled the action to bulk publish lists. You can read more about this in this article: https://support.talis.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000292238-Bulk-list-actions

Option to apply a Citation Style to a resource list
In the early days of discussion around the development of Talis Aspire- we talked about displaying resources in a list using a choice of Citation Styles.
Although there is further metadata in the Availability- Buying Options and Notes view of an item- I think it would improve the look of the list and be useful to all users (students- academics or library staff) to see the full reference as a citation.
3 votesList Bibliography feature allows the contents of an Aspire list to be viewed in a citation style

Automatic Edition Update on Lists
To have a way of checking the books edition in a list, in comparison to the catalogue. If there were any new editions available in the library by clicking a button you would be able to automatically update the books on your list to the latest edition available in the library.
3 votesThis is similar to the request in this idea: http://ideas.talisaspire.com/forums/32805-talis-aspire-reading-lists-ideas-archive/suggestions/1235711-update-e-book-entries-to-the-latest-edition
As discussed in that idea, we will not force the use of the newer editions as there may be a pedagogical requirement to use a specific edition and different institutions. However, the List Dashboard provides edition indicators including those in the library catalogue. We are also currently investigating the exposure of edition indicators in the reviews area

Delete a list rather than archive it
It would be useful to have the option to delete a list in addition to the archive option. While archiving can be very useful as a historical record and to be able to copy the content, there are lists that academic staff do not want any record of i.e. they could decide that a list is so out of date that it would be bad for anyone to see it. And there are training lists / examples for advertising it would be useful to get rid of as they have no purpose beyond their initial set up.

Improve Delete Warning when removing a list section
Various people have mentioned nodes and sections of lists being deleted by they-know-not-who. Hopefully these deletions have been made accidentally. Would it be possible to install a warning button "Are you sure you wish to delete...?"
6 votesThis has not yet been scheduled but we plan to address this by improving the warning to: “Deleting this section will also remove all the resources in it from your list. Are you sure you want to remove this section and all the items in it?”

Delete a list
To assist final data conversion it would be good to be able to delete an Aspire list in full. It would certainly help us now- but might also be useful in managing the tenancy longer-term as academics leave or courses are discontinued- being able to kill unwanted lists completly may be in order????
Another benefit is that it allows us to get rid of test lists that we are not 'proud' of. With Aspire exposed to search engines it kind of makes sense to allow 'play' and then taking back to base level to keep standards high????
10 votesWe have released “Archive List” to live, which is in effect the deletion of a list, as archived lists are not available from the hierarchy or search
