Adding restrictions to digitisation need-by dates
I would like to be able to restrict what dates can be selected when academics place digitisation requests. The ability to not select today's or tomorrow's date or even to block out a whole week, would allow us (library team) the chance to actually retrieve the item and get it scanned in time.
We quite often get digitisation requests with a very short need-by date and we struggle to keep up with demand, especially if items are on loan or missing from the shelves. We have told our academics that there is a 2 week turnaround for all requests, however this doesn't stop them from placing the request with a need-by date of the next day and expecting it to be available when they start their seminar.
I think this is even more crucial now as library resources are pushed to the extreme and staffing levels are reduced due to working on campus restrictions.

We get this a lot too and often scramble around only to find that actually its not needed that urgently. We also get serial offenders who continue to put in last minute requests despite being asked to be more realistic.
I think adding this restriction would help manage academics expectations.
