Customising digitisation cover sheets to include library branding
We would like to be able to customise our digitisation cover sheets to include institution-specific branding (specifically the library logo) to help highlight the role the library plays in delivering these resources to our users.
Our digitisations are often presented in reading lists embedded in Blackboard, which may obfuscate the original source of the digitisation.

The ability to add bib page range when using the Upload new version
When selecting a request from the vault it often overrides the request detail in the original request. This includes where bib pages have already been added. This can be frustrating when a request has already been reviewed and adjusted for accuracy.
As the bib page range does not count towards the 10% allowance, it can be misleading to have it in the main page range. Especially where the allowance is being maximised. We are also re-uploading a lot of requests with OCR adjustments and re-checking page ranges. Therefore, it would be useful to be able to add a separate range…

Vault matches - download and edit
When possible matches are found in the shared vault, it would be useful to be able to download and edit a PDF which is a close but not exact match, or if the PDF is not OCR ready.
Examples would be requiring only a part of a chapter, or finding more than one chapter bundled together.
The CLA's DCS (Digital Content Store) preview of a scan includes a download button, so since TACC is a similar tool could this feature be implemented?

Addition of 5% statutory exception in concierge override for UK tenancies
Currently the list of concierge override reasons does not specifically list the use of the 5% copyright exception for educational purposes. Would it be possible to add this as an option? The exception states that no more than 5% of any title can be used across the institution in any 12 month period under this exception. By including this option, would TADC then be able to track these titles on an institutional level rather than module/course code level to allow automated tracking of such digitisations rather than manual tracking outside of the system to ensure compliance? This would be particularly…

Hi Guys not to be rude but this is genuinely the hardest software to use
Most reasonably good online book systems actually don't have the book take up the entire screen, so you have to scroll for hours endlessly. Wherewith any other system, it may take me a minute to find the right word this takes forever, Talis give you a content page, but the problem with this is most books sections are hundreds of pages long, and when Talis puts a quarter of 1 page to fill up your screen its futile to scroll through endless information it's like they think we are 300 years old with the eyesight of a mole.
The search…

List of new comments since last visit
I'm using the "class comments" system to let students ask questions about research articles on Talis Elevate. However, after the first few comments it's difficult to track new comments that I haven't read/responded to. It wouldn't necessarily to mark every single new comment - the dashboard shows the number of comments in total, but it would be very useful if it had "number of comments posted since I last opened this document". That would make giving my responses much more efficient.

Digitisation report by month as well as day
I want to be able to see how many digitisations were viewed/printed or downloaded by month without having to track the graph on the home page to find individual days and write them onto a spreadsheet. There is a report tells us which digitisations have been used and the number of students but not when they used them. I could even cope if there were a way of specifying a number of day range rather than number of days or if the existing graph could be downloaded as a csv showing the dates and number of views/downloads/prints.
Ideally I'd like…

Adding restrictions to digitisation need-by dates
I would like to be able to restrict what dates can be selected when academics place digitisation requests. The ability to not select today's or tomorrow's date or even to block out a whole week, would allow us (library team) the chance to actually retrieve the item and get it scanned in time.
We quite often get digitisation requests with a very short need-by date and we struggle to keep up with demand, especially if items are on loan or missing from the shelves. We have told our academics that there is a 2 week turnaround for all requests, however…5 votes -
Prevent live digitisations on archived lists
When rolling over digitisations some of the digitsations are automatically going onto archived lists, which appear to be the newer lists, as opposed to the published lists.
We are then having to manually withdraw these digitisations and re- request them on the correct published list. This is extremely time consuming.
It would be great to prevent live digitisations even going onto archived lists in the first place, as there would be no instance where a live digitisation would be required on an archived list.

Adding a date to Notes to Library
We would like to see a date added in Notes to Library for back-end TADC use. Currently when library staff report on notes there is no date field included making it impossible to tell when notes were added. This will help with managing actions recorded in the notes field and ensure timely response.

Greater prominence for notes in scan "declined" notification
We would like the individual notes from TADC administrators to have greater prominence in the notification email that goes out to requesters when a scan is declined.
This year we've had an unprecedented number of emails from academics who have been confused about why a scan request has been declined - even though the exact reason was contained within the notification email. The note from the TADC administrator which can be added at the point of rejecting the request (e.g. "Note from Rob Challis: Book available electronically. Direct link added to resource list.") is hidden at the bottom of the…

TADC number in New List Edit
Currently in New List Edit the status of any digitisation requests appears (live, referred, rejected etc.) but it would be useful if the TADC number could also be displayed. It would be even better if this number could be hyperlinked to the TADC request page to enable quick access to the request.

Ability to change dates on 'Live' digitisations
Being able to change dates on 'live' digitisations would greatly improve our ability to manage requests and lessen the amount of re-submits we have to do. It would clear up our queues and expedite any requests made of our team, therefore improving our service significantly.

Digitisation #number on browser tab
[Screenshot of idea attached]
It would be useful if the browser tab for the digitisation you're looking at had the hashtag number on it, e.g. #9488At the moment it just says 'Digitised Content' which is not very descriptive when working on lots of digitisations.
Thanks,

Abiity to add a chapter author to metadata in a live TADC request
Sometimes I come across requests that are live on the system but lack a chapter/section author, despite this being different to the book editor. Perhaps I'm a perfectionist but for the sake of accuracy I'd like to be able to add the section author in without having to replace/copy the request. Could this be enabled please?
(You can edit existing section authors, but not add one where this was not in the original request - screenshot illustrates an example where I would like to add in an author's name)

The option to suppress an automatic notification from being sent to a requester when action is taken on a digitisation
We would like to be able to suppress an automatic notification email from being sent to a requester when action is taken on a digitisation request.
We've recently been carrying out post-rollover cleanup and would like to avoid spamming or confusing academics when, for example, we identify a request that was removed from the reading list several years ago and has only just been picked up by the rollover improvement, and now needs withdrawing. It is time consuming to type out an explanation essentially asking them to ignore the email.
We realise you can change the email address of the…15 votes -
'Last Updated' date on All List items report
Would it be possible to add a 'last updated date' for the all list items to accompany the 'Last Published' and 'Date Added' in the 'all list items' file? This is so we can catch any items that have been updated e.g. library note, and the academic has not published / requested review.

TADC digitisation and adding priorities
I have noticed when academics/staff submit digitisations, you cannot see the priority of the chapter they want digitised - e.g. Core, Recommended or Additional. We try to only digitise items with a Core priority. This creates a loophole for us. We end up spending a lot of money on digitisation requests which we shouldn't be.

Add an option for "BL library privilege" in the "source of original" drop down menu.
We would like to add another option when uploading a document to TADC that says "BL library privilege". This would be used when we have purchased a copy of a chapter/article from the British Library when we own the item in print.

Add field ‘Article Number’ as an option in the bookmarking process
Some articles have article numbers instead of page numbers. So I hope this option would be available when we are bookmarking. It will help students to obtain the essential reference/citation information when needed.
