  1. The ability to reply to a request, or ask for further information

There may be times when we would wish to enter a dialogue with the academic, particularly where the academic has overridden the concierge. At present there only seems to be the option to either reject or process these requests. We would like to be able to ‘reply’ to a request and to have a ‘pending reply’ type status while we clarify what is required. (I’m thinking for example of a response like “the pages you have selected exceed the maximum permissible. This appears to be because the pages you have selected do not quite tally with the chapter in this…

    backlog  ·  Keji Adedeji responded

In-built notification is an area we would like to explore but is not currently in our near term development focus.

It has been placed into moved to the longer term backlog.

Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned.

  2. Greater prominence for notes in scan "declined" notification

We would like the individual notes from TADC administrators to have greater prominence in the notification email that goes out to requesters when a scan is declined.

This year we've had an unprecedented number of emails from academics who have been confused about why a scan request has been declined - even though the exact reason was contained within the notification email. The note from the TADC administrator which can be added at the point of rejecting the request (e.g. "Note from Rob Challis: Book available electronically. Direct link added to resource list.") is hidden at the bottom of the…

  3. Automatic notification of the need to renew digitised readings

We would like to receive a notice when digitised readings are about to expire. It would also be useful to have the ability to automatically inform the module leader of this, to see if they want the item renewed for another year.

  4. The option to suppress an automatic notification from being sent to a requester when action is taken on a digitisation

We would like to be able to suppress an automatic notification email from being sent to a requester when action is taken on a digitisation request.

We've recently been carrying out post-rollover cleanup and would like to avoid spamming or confusing academics when, for example, we identify a request that was removed from the reading list several years ago and has only just been picked up by the rollover improvement, and now needs withdrawing. It is time consuming to type out an explanation essentially asking them to ignore the email.
We realise you can change the email address of the…

  5. Include module code in the subject line of automated emails

We would like to add module codes to the subject line of the automated emails that requesters get when their requests are made live or rejected. Many requesters look after several modules and request numbers mean nothing to them. It would be easier for them to see at a glance the module concerned and they are also more likely to pay attention to the email as a result.

  6. Email notifications when a digitisation request is assigned to a user

Would it be possible to get an email notification when a digitisation request is assigned to you?
We are wanting to let our academics request their own digitisations and then the library can assign the request to the relevant member of staff to deal with, depending on the outcome. At the moment each staff member would need to log in to TADC everyday to check if anything has been assigned to them, whereas getting an email would notify them straight away. This would help with our workflows for getting more digitisations on the system, within a reasonable amount of time.

  7. include reject reason in email

When a Digitisation request is rejected, a reason is selected from a drop-down list. It would make sense for this reason to be included in the reject email to the Requestor. At present the same or similar information has to be typed into the Notes field.
(It may also be desirable, for institutions, to be able to ad to the reasons for rejection).

  8. Add edition and date to item details in request emails

Currently only the the Book title, Authors/Editors and ISBN(s) are given in TADC emails (success or reject). For users who are requesting on multiple editions/years, it is not easy to work out which exact item the message refers to.

It would useful if these key bibliographic details could be added to the email to avoid confusion.
