Deletion of bookmark with request linked to it
I would like to request some sort of communication to be sent to the requester and to the Digitisation Service when a bookmark is deleted and has a digitisation request linked to it.
Our experience was with deletion of a bookmark with the request pending to be processed.
There was no automated communication to the requester to notify him/her that the deletion was for a bookmark that had a digitisation request attached to it.
There was no communication from the system to let the Digitisation Service or Admin side of TADC know that the bookmark had been deleted and therefore…51 votes -
Ability to place a TADC digitisation in more than one place in a list
Items quite often appear twice in our reading lists - Once in the recommended texts and then later on in the list in a weekly reading section
It would be useful to have an easy way to put the same TADC digitisation in more than one place in a list

It has been placed into moved to the longer term backlog.
Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned.

The ability to suppress the "Request Digitisation" link next to e-books in reading lists
We don't ever digitise from titles where we own an ebook version.
To avoid pointless requests and wasting the requester's time, we'd like the ability to suppress the "Request Digitisation" link for ebook items in reading lists.
That is, we don't want that link to appear to users if format = ebook.
I understand there will be a future development theme on integration between Digitised Content and Reading List modules - could this be considered under that theme?

Display the status 'Digitisation Pending' in Reading list view in TARL
During the time gap between when Library staff click on the Request Digitisation link from a bookmark in TARL, and Library staff uploading a digitised file into TADC, having the status 'Digitisation Pending' displayed in the Reading list view in TARL, so students, academics and staff can identify why a resource on their reading list may not yet be available electronically.
18 votesThe message that a digitisation is pending now appears in the academic view when editing a list so staff and academics will see this.
We will continue to review the need for this in the student view.

Indicate in Reading Lists, if a Digitisation request has been made and rejected
If an Academic makes a Digitisation Request, which is rejected further down the line in Digitised Content. The Academic receives an email to this effect, but the Item in their Reading List has no indication that a Request was ever made. The "Request Digitisation" link is still available. I think Academics will forget they have requested the scan and it was rejected, and request a scan again....
Once a Request has been rejected, please can this be indicated on the Reading List - at least for the period of the Module or Academic Year.10 votesWe are exploring this idea, to see if it is possible to add a rejection status into reading lists.

Prevent live digitisations on archived lists
When rolling over digitisations some of the digitsations are automatically going onto archived lists, which appear to be the newer lists, as opposed to the published lists.
We are then having to manually withdraw these digitisations and re- request them on the correct published list. This is extremely time consuming.
It would be great to prevent live digitisations even going onto archived lists in the first place, as there would be no instance where a live digitisation would be required on an archived list.

Display indication of Expired digitisations within TARL
Within TARL Expired digitisations are not clearly identifiable. The current display of Expired digitisations within TARL:
- From the TARL edit list view - still appears as ‘Digitisation Live’
- From the TARL list view - still displays the Online Resource buttons
- With the CNAME feature active, within the bookmark item view - if the browser is not maximized, the 'view digitisation in a new window' button appears
The display of the Expired digitisation in these three areas is confusing for both staff and students.
This idea suggests to make changes to any or all of these three areas to more clearly…

Removal of "check for local electronic submissions" button for journal article extracts
Reading list entries for journal articles have a link to "check for local electronic subscriptions".
Where articles are digitised, the link to the digital extract is further down the page. It is sometimes necessary to scroll down to see this, particularly on mobile devices and other small screens. Hence, student clicks on "click to see e-sub" link (and gets "not available" message) and does not realise that digital extract is available as this is not visible.
Can this "check for local electronic subscriptions" link be removed in cases where there is a digital extract available? (Generally , there should not…

Add field ‘Article Number’ as an option in the bookmarking process
Some articles have article numbers instead of page numbers. So I hope this option would be available when we are bookmarking. It will help students to obtain the essential reference/citation information when needed.

Ability to request digitisation for an image
Ability to request digitisation for an image for copyright, where the parent on the bookmark is a book .
At the moment we can only put it in as a chapter and change it to image once we have digitised it. This is problematic as each time the list is copied or rolled, this will have to be changed over again.2 votes -
Request digitisation for resources which have online resource button ticked
We have had feedback from a number of academics with long readings lists with a mix of online sources and resources which need to be digitised. When they edit their list , every resource as it is digitisable has a request digitisation option, which they find confusing as they want to be able to quickly navigate to those resources which aren't available online to request those only. Often we get requests from academics for digitisations in error as the presence of the request option makes then think that they need to request even though the resource is online.

A TADC API
Specifically for usage - prints, downloads and views. We have a project that is monitoring 7 modules - the usage of the items on these modules. We want to automate the gathering of data as much as possible. We can use the Talis linked data API to get the data. For hardcopy books we can use the LCN (which is the bib number in our LMS) to retrieve loans, reservations and renewals automatically, and we would ike to be able to look up TADC data for each request. An API seems the obvious solution.
