Similarly, where we have a scan for a book chapter and this is added to the book entry on the reading list, if the book is not in stock in the library the student sees information that the book is not available on the catalogue and a prompt to buy the book from Amazon. We need to change the material type to "document" in order for the student to see the link to the scanned chapter more clearly.

    planned  ·  Keji Adedeji responded

“All of the scenarios involving overriding the concierge or selecting an option allow the entry of notes.

The ability to enter more general notes is something we would like to explore but is is not currently in our near term development focus.

It has been placed into moved to the longer term backlog.

Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned. "

Some more scenarios which we have to record on a separate spreadsheet and which could be recorded on the system in a "note" field:

    - Item not available from BL - requested from another library
    - Copies of title all on loan, hold placed for digitisation team
    - Copy missing from library stock so ordered from BL
    - Copy on order at BL. Expected supply date given

The "stages" feature doesn't seem appropriate for this. These are not stages which apply to all requests. A note feature would help to record actions/reports which apply to only a small number of requests.

In-built notification is an area we would like to explore but is not currently in our near term development focus.

It has been placed into moved to the longer term backlog.

I agree. It is difficult for lecturers and even library staff (who usually place our digitisation requests) to spot the e-mails from the Digital Content Module. If they have lots of e-mails every day, anything sent by a "no-reply" mailbox will be ignored. If it is identifiable as coming from the library it is more likely to be noticed and acted upon.

This is linked to the other "ideas" here about completeness of information in e-mail notifications. It's essential that information be clearly presented, otherwise we're just going to be ignored!

Whilst the concierge checks the vault and copy limits on any requests received, there may be a need to check in advance of placing a request by digitisation staff, so improved searching is something we would like to address but is not currently in our near term development focus.

It has been placed into moved to the longer term backlog.

Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned.
