  1. Edit library and student notes within Reviews 2.0

    We'd like to resurrect this idea from 2014 but see it incorporated into Reviews 2.0 http://ideas.talis.com/forums/32805-talis-aspire-reading-lists/suggestions/5335311-ability-to-edit-note-for-library-from-within-the#{toggle_previous_statuses}

    Our team would be keen to have ability to edit library and student notes within the Reviews 2.0 screen rather than having to revert to the original list which is time consuming.

    We use library notes in our acquisitions workflow as this information is populated in the all list items report and you can see actions taken for books not available in the catalogue (whereas review 2.0 comments aren't visible in this report). The ability to update and edit these notes within the reviews…

  2. Add a message box on the Request Review screen

    I think it would be benficial to be able to add a note in a box on the request review page. At present you only had to stipulate student numbers.

    At my insitution only one person does the review, the Subject Librarian, and a number of lists are created by the admin team so messages in this box could include:

    "Only one item needs attention as not in stock" (useful on a longer list to speed things up)

    "Same list is also being used on three other modules" (could then duplicate etc)

    Or academics could add a note such as:

  3. Show review history in lists post rollover and in Reviews 2.0

    At present when lists are rolled over to a new time period or copied manually the 'review history' (in the list review drop down menu) does not rollover- it resets as a new list. Nor is this review history available to view in Reviews 2.0, only the previous review comments and/or alerts attached to bookmarks.

    The review history information (dates requested/completed/by whom) is very useful to view as part of the workflow and we would like to see the review history details rollover with lists year on year and also appear in Reviews 2.0 detail screen.

  4. Add a request digitisation button in the review screen

    Could there be a 'request digitisation button' in the review process so that they could be requested as you go?

  5. Icons for different types of alerts (items with changes) Reviews 2.0

    At present the exclamation mark alert in Reviews in 2.0 can mean a number of things (change of importance/notes/new edition/enrolments etc).

    We would much prefer to have symbols to differentiate between these types of alerts, when reviewing we need to be able to quickly drill down what changes have been made so are concentrating on items of priority. For example if a list has student numbers changed this could cause alerts for all items but it's not clear which of those have new edition flags unless you check each one which isn't an efficient use of time.

  6. Set review outcome (2.0) for multiple items

    We'd benefit from option of being able to select multiple resources in a review (e.g. check box by each item/line) and set the review outcome. For example if we have bulk checked a number of weblinks would like to select all in one go and set review outcome rather than click though each item and do this individually, would be a good time saver for us.

  7. coutts oasis widget to search on title rather than ISBN

    The coutts oasis widget links on ISBN which limits its effectiveness for searching for later editions, it would be better if it searched on title.

    We had some discussions with Coutts towards the end of last year about this and they need to do some work. As they are migrating to a new version of their site iPage, they advised that they would make the changes for the new site. We will need to touch base with them again to catch up on their migration and plans for implementing the requested change

  8. 'Request review and publish' option

    I’ve been getting feedback from tutors recently who are ‘adamant’ that they’ve published lists, but have then been chased as owners of draft lists. I suspect this is to do with them requesting a review and assuming that publishing happens simultaneously.

    We don’t want to configure our system so that we get sent an automatic review for every single published list, and we want to encourage lecturers to take ownership of their lists, publishing and reviewing appropriately.

    If they had an option to 'Request review & publish' this would really help make clear to them what was happening when they…

  9. Reviews screen - move the Vendor information below previous review outcomes/decisions

    With several vendors now integrated into the Vendor section in the Review screen - and a lot of information in particular often coming from Askews & Holts - this section has now pushed the display of previous outcomes and comments for a given item off the bottom of the screen.

    This is unhelpful as library staff usually need to see previous outcomes/comments *before* deciding whether further purchasing is required - so in effect this information is in the wrong order.

    Could the vendor information please be moved below the outcomes/comments section?

  10. Make "View later edition" alert in Reviews screen dependent on edition statements not publication dates

    The "View later edition" alert in the Reviews screen is currently very unreliable. It appears to be triggered by publication dates rather than edition statements and so picks up paperback reprints, e-book releases, etc - none of which are "new editions" in the academic sense of the word. Nine times out of ten when we look at it we find there isn't in fact a new edition, which is leading staff to ignore it. Is there any way it could be refined so that it only actually picks up 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc edition statements?

  11. Communicate result of Review Outcome to list owner

    Once a list review has been completed the requester is e-mailed and informed that the review is complete. However s/he cannot see the results of the review, the helpful comments and information that have been added by library staff. Could the link in the message be changed so that it takes the requester to the results of hte review, rather than to the reading list.

  12. Ability to delete previous outcomes in review

    In the review section there is a trial of all outcomes for an item across all the different lists. This can be very useful to see how the item has been dealt with elsewhere by different people. For example the first outcome may be stock sufficient but later when added to a new list it was then set to be ordered. Having this trail of outcomes if very good.   13. Is it possible to delete the notes added to items in the review section

    We make extensive use of the note functionality in our processes - collections assistants append notes on decisions to inform librarians and overseas colleagues of purchasing decisions. Some items end up with dozens of notes and when we make a mistake we have to add another note to say ignore the above note. Can we delete them instead?

  14. Changing text for request review reminder when clicking Publish

    Where we have the option to ask list editors to request a review when they click publish, it would be useful to be able to control the message as we would want editors to request reviews if they have books they would like to order.

  15. Option to complete a review without notifying tutor / inputter

    In the "All Reviews" section of Aspire it would be useful to have the option to "mark as completed" without notifying the person (tutor or library staff) who'd requested the review

  16. reviews 2.0 overview summary line similar to TADC

    Would it be possible to have a line at the top of the reviews page with a summary similar to TADC of 'Requested' 'Started' 'Assigned to You' or to default the display to these statuses to help workflow?

  17. Acquisitions - introduce the idea of 'states'

    To enable the Acquisitions Library Review process to support more complex workflows, it could be extremely useful to introduce the idea of 'states' (or similar) to lists under Review. Customers could select how many 'states' their workflow necessitates and what labels they wish to attach to 'State 1', 'State 2' and so on (e.g. 'Liaison Librarian review', 'Link checking', 'Acquisitions processing' etc). Lists submitted for review could arrive in 'State 1' and then be moved to 'State 2', 'State 3' as this review process progresses.   18. Reviewing reading lists with draft changes

    When reviewing a published list with unpublished changes it would be helpful if there could be some indication of which items are unpublished additions. Otherwise you can have something on the review list which you can't find on the published version, which can get confusing for reviewers.
    The notification could say something similar to a list with unpublished changes e.g. 'this item is an unpublished change on a draft version of the list"

  19. Change “Request Review” to “Request Library Review”

    Currently, many academics are confused by the “Request Review” button because the text that explains it (i.e. that a review is something the Library carries out, and that the Library needs to be asked to carry out a review whenever a list is amended) is not very prominent. Hence many academics never send their lists for review. It would help if the wording of the button itself was changed from "Request Review" to “Request Library Review”.

  20. Be able to filter to new edition alerts in reviews

    It would be useful if you could filter to the items that have an alert for a new edition rather than just alerts in general. This would help to identify new editions without having to go through every item in the list.
