  1. Multiple list owners on a readinglist

    We have many courses where multiple academics are involved in teaching. It would be useful if we could assign more than one list owner so they could work on it collaboratively. Based on feedback from academics this would be very well recieved at our instiution.

  2. Warning when removing bookmark with digitisation attached

    Would it be possible for a user to be warned when they are removing a bookmark with a digitisation attached? Or for the Reading List team to receive a notification when someone has removed a bookmark that had a digitisation attached?
    We find that academics remove the bookmarks without telling us that the digitisation is no longer required (they seem to think that removing the bookmark terminates the digitisation) - the digitisation stays live in TADC but is no longer accessible via the list. At the moment the process of doing our monthly stats identifies when there is a discrepancy…

    With New List Edit the Delete warning is already much stronger, however, this specific request has come up in feedback and we plan to address this with clearer messaging about the impact on Digitisations. This is not currently scheduled but we will update as this moves to the top of our priorities.

  3. Book Metadata Refresh: list the items that were linked

    When the Book Metadata Refresh notification email comes, it gives a figure for the number of items that were linked to the library catalogue. It would be useful to be able to see which items have been linked by Admin>Review Jobs>Show Details. That way we could compile a monthly list which library staff could use to spot
    a) titles where Note For Student / Not for Library can be removed
    b) alternative bookmark suggestions for List Owners (eg substituting new editions that have arrived)

  4. Manual entry - fields appear automatically according to resource type selected

    Would be helpful, when using manual add, if once you had selected the resource type, a standard set of entry fields could appear automatically, as appropriate to the type of resource, e.g. for article, 'author', 'page numbers', 'part of' & for journals, 'volume', 'date' etc.

  5. Return to same point on list after editing bookmark in new list view

    Previously (i.e. on classic list view) when editing a list, the 'Edit metadata' option for individual bookmarks allowed you to make changes to a bookmark and then to return to the same point on the list when you clicked Save. This was useful if you needed to work through a list (e.g. to upgrade the quality of the metadata in bookmarks).

    In new list view the 'Edit metadata' option returns you to the top of the list when you click Save, rather than to the point on the list you were working on.

  6. Option of Student Numbers defaulting to hierarchy not list

    We have student numbers for our modules stored in our student administration system. We want to be able to upload this information through the hierarchy into Aspire, and this be the definitive student number for the lists. Academics editing the list however, are able to add their own numbers, and this is the number which is shown in Reviews 2.0 i.e. list numbers have precedence over hierarchy upload numbers. We would like to be able to choose which number is set as the default – hierarchy or list number

  7. Export bibliography in list order (not alphabetical)

    We would like to be able to export a reading list in a bibliographic citation format but keeping the list structure, e.g. week one, week two etc. The current export options are 'export to PDF' which only lists title/author and doesn't contain the full bibliogaphic detail, or the 'view bibliography' button which lists everything alphabetically by author.

    Our academics need to add reading list content to their printed course outlines so we need to be able to export reading lists from Aspire into the course outline, with a 'week by week' structure where appropriate. Many academics are understandably extremely reluctant…

  8. "View and Export" in List View/Edit 2.0

    In the first screenshot from Broadminster University, the Talis demo tenancy,, it looks as if you have the option to "View and Export" from the list when you are in edit mode. See my first attached screenshot.

    But all that I can see when I am editing is a "View" drop down. If I want to see my export options,

    I have to click View > As Student, and it's only then I am presented with options to export to PDF, CSV, etc. (see second attached screenshot)

    This idea is to enable the "View & Export" button for all those…

  9. Include the Ability to Add the 'Format' field within a bookmark

    Sometimes when bookmarking the 'Format' field will be automatically included in the record. When it is not, there is no option from the drop-down to add it. This must be a simple thing to rectify, and is causing us to use workarounds when listing eBooks where the field is not present.
