    Currently there is no option to hide/unhide sections of lists, we would like to see the option to allow gradual release of lists, and to publish those sections which are ready before a list is complete.

      Whilst the LTI work has made it easier to include whole lists or sections in the VLE, hiding sections directly in the list not currently in our near term development focus so it has been moved to the longer term backlog while we focus on items in the development focus.

      Ideas may be graduated from the backlog as we get through the ones that are planned.

    • Multiple list owners on a readinglist

      We have many courses where multiple academics are involved in teaching. It would be useful if we could assign more than one list owner so they could work on it collaboratively. Based on feedback from academics this would be very well recieved at our instiution.

        This is not currently in our near term development focus so it has been moved to the longer term backlog. It will be merged with a similar existing idea.

      • Compulsory setting of importance field

        The majority of our academics are not using the 'Set importance' tag for each item on their list. Could this be made a compulsory field when adding the item? This information is required to enable the correct number of items to be purchased and for student information of the books importance.

        • Ability to move multiple items simultaneously

          It would be nice to be able to move more than one item at once within a list. Some imported reading lists have a large number of items which currently can only be moved one by one, which is rather laborious.

          • Ability to edit, and check links and notes from same page

            It would be useful to have the option to check links and notes at the same time as editing the metadata for a bookmark.

            • Copy one list into another with losing notes etc.

              List creators here have asked to be able to copy content from one list into another. Currently it is only possible to export/import records e.g. from someone else's list, from one list to My Bookmarks and then drag them into another list. This is quite time consuming and notes to library/students are lost.

              • Dropdown menu when editing lists so references can be moved to a particular week rather than needing to be dragged and dropped

                A few academic staff at our institution have found it frustrating and time consuming to move references from one week to another when editing their reading lists using the existing drag and drop method. It would be helpful if, in edit mode, there was a 'move to' option whereby a reference could, for example, be moved from Week 1 to Week 9 without the need to drag it all the way down to the bottom of the reading list. It would be good if this could work along the same lines as the 'create & add to list' option when…

                • Create a manual bookmark from the editing page

                  It would be useful to have the option to create a new bookmark from the editing page, rather than having to go to My Bookmarks to select this.

                  • Library note for a list

                    It would be useful to be able to have notes on lists that cannot be read by public users, but which include admin information for system admins. E.g. if a list does not have a hierarchy node, it would be useful to be able to note the changes on the list rather than having to keep that information in a separate system outside the software.

                    In fact, an admin area for systems notes would be useful overall.

                    • Add ability to batch publish (etc) lists

                      We need to be able to search/select lists, tick the ones we want to carry out a batch function on, and batch publish them.

                      Other batch functions are also required, such as unpublish, add note, assign list publisher, assign list owner... [Um, I already put batch assign list owner in a separate idea, maybe this should all just be one?]

                      • Book chapter read status/notes

                        We have had negative student feedback relating to book chapters which have come from the same original bookmark. Setting a Read Status changes for each mention of the book made from the same bookmark. Bookmarks need to be unique for separate notes to be added, so if the individual chapters have been added from the same initial bookmark, then the notes added for each will overwrite the previous. We would like the option for Read Status and notes to be recorded against a single bookmark instead of all instances of the bookmark.

                        • Access to digitised content as subject coordinator before students

                          As a list editor and academic teaching staff member, it’s not possible to access digitised readings for approaching semester 2 subject until the 18th of July (which is the same day as the students have access- one week before semester 2 begins).
                          It would be useful to be able to access beforehand so that teaching staff/subject coordinators can decide whether they need revising or are still relevant. I understand that it may mean staff access to the TADC database or a request to the Reading List team to intervene on their behalf, them having to send the articles to send…

                            Where there are a lot of lists to delete the ability to bulk delete them would save an enormous amount of time.

                              we would like the ability to add one than one owner to a list as some academics share in the teaching of a unit. Even the ability to add co-owners would be an advantage

                              • Enhance the LTI tools to grant access to lists

                                Extend the LTI integration so that an academic can click through from a module in their learning management system (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, etc) to Aspire and be granted appropriate access to the list in Aspire. This would be a much more effective way to grant academics List Publisher access to their lists than the clumsy email invitation system.

                                This functionality is available in other systems such as Echo360 Lecture Capture so it has the additional advantage of being familiar to academics who are already using this.

                                  At the moment, if academics want an item to be put on short loan they write this request in the library note field. Is it possible to have a tick box for academics to select items for short loan?

                                  • Null read status

                                    We have had student feedback that if they accidentally set a Read Status, the available options (Will read/Reading now/Have read/Won't read) are not always applicable. We would like the option to be able to revert back to a 'null' read status.

                                    • Put an Edit button at the bottom as well as the top of a list.

                                      Put an Edit button at the bottom as well as the top of a list to make saving to draft and editing easier when a list is getting quite long.

                                      • Option to create a new blank list on the module screen

                                        When you create a new module you see the screen where you can link an existing list. It would be very handy at this point to have a button that says 'create a new list' that contains a hotlink to the new list page.
                                        (At present I have 'Create a new list' saved as a frequently used bookmark but this would be useful if using a different computer)

                                        • Replace Copy with 'Request edit access'

                                          Replace (or hide) the Copy button that shows to a logged in user with a 'request edit access' button that would send a request to the list owner to grant edit access to the list.

                                          We find that staff keep copying lists they want to edit, frequently creating multiple copies, because they have no way to request edit permissions for a specific list. This creates a lot of confusion and frustration for them and for library staff. If there was a quick and easy way to request edit access to a list it would be a great improvement.
