In the reading list module is it possible to have a resource type specifically for digital readings?
We need to be able to identify digital readings on any particular reading list and the existing options (chapter, article, document) all apply to other types of material as well as scanned readings.4 votes
We saw a similar request in the reading list ideas forum. We will not be focusing on this idea as the digitisation is a delivery mechanism and is not the resource type.
How can lecturers upload their own document? The only way at present is requesting it manually and fooling the system that it is a book and then asking for digitization but it would be better if there was an easier way.1 vote
TADC is for clearing copyright compliant material so we are going to decline this. However, this is something Talis are working towards. The Talis Player will not only enable you to upload material that needs to be copyright cleared, but also other materials.
Talis have been working with beta partners to develop this, and we will keep you up to date with the wider release of this through the usual updates (webinars, newsletters, events etc)."
In the item details screen, create a 'view digitisation' button alongside the other action buttons ('add to my bookmarks', 'export citation') that appear at the top of the screen so that all user options are clearly visible and grouped together.1 vote
The changes to the new list view mean all item details are displayed in the list view so this is no longer a problem and the view online button is clearly visible against each digitised item.
If this is still an area you would like to see further enhancements made please do raise again.
